Artist info: If you are a local artist, please consider entering some work (FMI | registration).  All work must be prepared for hanging on the wall, with all hardware firmly installed and wires properly attached. Please include name and phone number on back of work.

The church will take a 10% commission on sales.

The Honduras Mission Team will present a dinner theater on November 21 and 22, 2008.  We will need some actors to perform in the production!

The play is titled “Play On!” by Rick Abbot and the cast is as follows:

Females
Aggie Manville - stage manager; any age 35 and up
Geraldine “Gerry” Dunbar - community theater director - middle aged
Polly Benish - Character actress (”Lady Margaret”) -middle 50’s
Marla “Smitty” Smith - supporting actress-approximately age 17
Violet Imbry - “ingénue” actress - not too bright, about age 22
Louise Peary - sound and lighting technician - about 35; sad-faced
Phyllis Montague - novice playwright - any age 42-57

Males
Henry Benish - Character actor (”Lord Dudley”) - middle 50’s
Saul Watson - Character actor (villain) - about 45
Billy Carewe - Young character actor - athletic, about 25

The play is a comedy about a theater group trying to put on a play in spite of an authoress who keeps revising the script. It is hilarious to watch the actors try to keep up with all the changes; anything that can go wrong does!

Rehearsals will begin on or about October 12 for six weeks culminating in two performances. Auditions will be held at the church on August 7th at 7 pm. It is a great opportunity for anyone who has acted or would like to try to act. The director is Vince Knue, a well-known local actor and superb director.

You will learn a lot and have a great deal of fun in participating!

Westbrook Churches Together:
What are we doing for the well being of the City?

On Sunday June 8 at 10:00am, Westbrook-Warren will join with Saint Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Trinity Lutheran, Prides Corner, U.C.C. and River of Life, Salvation Army for worship in Riverbank Park on Main Street. It is a wonderful demonstration of our unity in faith and a witness the value of bringing out faith perspective to the public square. We are now part of the longstanding Westbrook Together Day, and are calling the gathering, Westbrook Churches Together. Our theme is: What are we doing for the well being of the City?”

God has led all of us to life in Westbrook. The variety of gifts and graces among us is amazing. We have asked a number of people to speak to what they are doing in their lives in the city. Our community reflectors will be: Caren Marie Michel: a Westbrook Artist, Karen Valley: a Westbrook Librarian, Ed Symbol: a Westbrook businessman (Full Court Press), Gerry Bryant: Westbrook City Administrator, and Jeanne Rielly: Dir. Westbrook Food Pantry. The award winning High school jazz quartet, “Kinda Blue” will provide some of the music.

Join us for worship … liturgical dancing … a combined choir … and a great jazz ensemble. Rain or shine!

Note: There will be NO worship at Westbrook-Warren that Sunday morning.

Theme for the Day: The New Commandment to Love and the institution of the Victory Feast— the Passover and the Lord’s Supper, the Eucharist, are feasts celebrating the Lord’s victory over ppression and sin. They are occasions for remembering whose we are.

We are pleased once again to have a labyrinth available for Epiphany.  It will be in the Fellowship Hall and will be open the weekend of January 4th.

Why a labyrinth?  The labyrinth is not a maze.  It is a curved path that leads the walker along a circuitous route from the edge into the center and then back again to the edge.  It can be used as a meditation or prayer tool, allowing the walker to be contemplative while following the path.

The labyrinth will be open:

• Friday, January 4th -  1:00 to 3:00pm - 6:00 to 8:00pm
• Saturday, January 5th - 1:00 to 3:00pm - 6:00 to 8:00pm
• Sunday, January 6th - 6:00 to 7:00pm

Join us Sunday, January 6th at 7:00pm for our Epiphany Worship Service.

Everyone is welcome to join us for Christmas Dinner at 11:30am on Christmas Day!
